    Default My new website

    Steve

I hope that websites created in Xtreme are acceptable for posting here as well?

After about 8 years my website was ponderous and overly verbose to the point of bloviating.

Since what I do is visual and not dealing with words, I have redesigned my website to be mostly visual.

Each page uses popup layers containing larger images that appear when the visitor mouses over the thumbnail image.

I am very pleased with the site and with the ease of creation in Xtreme 5 Pro.

Yes Gary, quite acceptable. The Xara Web Gallery is for sharing a website which has been created using any Xara product

    Good 'fresh' looking site Gary.
Though, having never been there before - I do believe your upload process might have been interrupted as some images seem out of place?

Steve - I have been uploading files frequently during the day and at one point I just uploaded the HTML page before I saw that the images were renamed.

I replaced one of the vector images with the July 07 Flash animation image which works fine on the popup layer.

Yep - all looks good now Gary, correct images all loaded in the right places (no page refresh needed either)

Very nice site Gary. What's this for on the home page? It seems out of place somehow ...

One of my friends commented that the home page looked unbalanced. So I added a small diamond to visually center the objects on the page.

    (It's a small concession )

Great site Gary, but I wouldn`t have thought otherwise.

Well to me it looks unbalanced now with a white margin to the left
That is the trouble with people having all different settings and monitors.

On other thing I noticed, I watched the german glasses site.(GBi)
And I saw a black square (see picture) where the flash was playing.
I tried it in firefox and it looked fine. I went back to IE8 and discovered what caused it, the <ctrl>key and the mousewheel, you know, where you can enlarge the site.
And since it is a site where people come who need glasses , they might actually do
that, using the <ctrl>key+mousewheel. It might be an issue for webbuilders.
I thought I better notify you about it. (And maybe his is something that has to be
    looked into by the programmers?)

Actually Ankhor, the German Glasses site (and others on his website portfolio page) is not a Xara software produced site.

Ah okay, couldn`t see that, I wonder how XWD5 or XX(p)5 would hold up
to this test, I have seen it before when a site was made in XWD and it showed the same 'flaw' actually.
Didn`t know what caused it then.

Here is a picture of that site where I noticed it

Actually the only browser handling it very badly was IE8, the others didn`t
show the black square, but a nice background color.
