Thanks all..to answer a Q.- I like to just start drawing. I use a digital pad/stylus. As I begin I will pick a given line type (the black) and then I will set thickness>as I go along I will sometimes change that thickness on the spot.As I look for an effect I will vary the line etc. Xara X has a beautiful 'create line' and 'edit line'.
These are extremely tremendous tools. I don't
think one could ever reach the end of combinations or modifications. ie-I took a photo of one of my wife's orchids. I 'created' a line of orchids. Varying the widths etc. I filled the man's face.For his hair I tiled the orchid...it gave it a brown color. It's too bad this has to be in a JPEG file. If I could post it in XAR, you would be able to pick it apart and see it closer to see the many,many orchids in that man's face. All the other lines are varied types, widths, color etc.
Xara X is truly amazing...
