I'm looking for any kind of rainbow effect the can be done on my Xara 3D. Can text be shaped in a rainbow like arch? Can animated colors run through it? I'm a soundman by profession and pretty blind to graphics.

I am not sure about the animated colors, maybe with some trickery it can be done but not nativeally as far as I know.
But I have been proven wrong many times on what people can squeeze out of this application.

You need to create the rainbow text version in a Xara vector program such as Photo and Graphics Designer, or Designer 6, or Xara Xtreme, etc.
Export the type as a PNG file, 300dpi and with the True Color + Alpha Color Depth option. Apply the PNG as a Texture to the text.
