Thread: Scrolling Text

    Default Scrolling Text

Is there a way to make and scroll multi-line text without breaking up the text and scrolling bits of it? Sorry trying to do it in Xara 3D 7 which I am considering.

Hello Kenneth - I am not sure but I think you can. The best way to find out is download the free trial version and you have 30 days to see if you can make it work

I have downloaded the trial version, but being kinda dense I can't even get multi-line text. When I type in one line and hit enter the whole thing disappears. So I make one line and it will scroll up or down, but then it starts scrolling a word then two then more, it is really screwed up. I am looking for something like the start of the Star Wars movies where the beginning text scrolls up and disappears .

Have you tried ctrl+enter for a new line?

I tried that and it works the same as just enter.

Well I finally got it to make more than one line. I still don't understand why the enter key would be used to delete a line.

    Hi Kenneth,

The Enter Key does not delete text but puts in a page break so new text is on a new page.

Hold a Shift Key down to enter a line break rather than a page break.

Let me get this straight. If I type a word and hit the Enter key it advances to a new page where the next word I type appears? That is really weird. I hope Xara never comes up with a plain text editor.

It is a bit disconcerting especially since it is different from the behaviour of Xara3D6.

I think the change was made because many people use the different pages with their animations.

Personally I would have kept the Enter key as the line break and made Shift+Enter the page break.
