Stopping a YouTube video playing on click

Ok sorry about the title, its the best short explanation I could come up with.

What I want.

1 Auto start a mini youtube video with no sound:-

I can do that bit

2 Click on the video and I get a pop out of it large

I can make the pop out bit using layers. Not sure about the click on the video bit. It might make it jump to YouTube site, I could try a transparent PNG on top

3 I want the original video to stop so the download speed on the new vid is not affected by the small one.

No idea how to do that. Any clues?
