    Default Placeholder positioning

Is there a way to fix the position of a placeholder?

This is what I want to accomplish in order:
Graphic header, navbar, placeholder(h1 tags), text content & images etc.
Also further down the page another placeholder say (h2 tags)

When I publish the page/site, there's no telling where the placeholder is positioned, generally way down the page.
I've tried using a text box and graphic above the main text content to no avail.

This is obviously for SEO purposes, but Please Please Please do not reply to this thread re SEO techniques.

    Hi Proden

    This works in XDP6

    • Select all the items that you wish to sort in order
    • Send to back CTRL+B
    • Bring each one forward CTRL+F in the order you wish to see them in the exported code

Many thanks Drwyd & Hi Gary, worked fine on a quick test page.

Can we check on the pecking order somewhere because if I go back some time later to add h2 or h3 or whatever, of course I would like to slot them in or would it be the same as before ctrlA ctrlB and start again?

You will probably have to do it all again unfortunately.

Search engines are moving towards evaluating rendered pages rather than just the code so it is a lot of fiddling for very little gain. Large bold text is just as good as Hx tags for SEO but they do have their uses for other reasons.

    Use Page & Layer gallery.

To avoid all that sorting you could just add '<h2>My h2 text here </h2> to the HTMLplaceholder.
That way you would keep it together, and ou could tell Xara to regenerate automatically so that you can actually see it while working.

Page & Layer gallery didn't work for me unfortunately covoxer.

Thanks for your SEO input Drwyd. I work professionally on SEO and all my clients have pages at No1, Page1 bringing significant amount of traffic to their sites and earning large amounts of money.
SEO has been up & down and around the houses for years, I started way back when Alta Vista & AOL were the main players and we worked at 56k.
There's no one set route to go, but the key is to listen to the search engines and conform first, expand second.

    All the best,

Designer Pro 6, but I have just downloaded WB7 Trial to have a look at and wonder if it's worth getting or wait till Pro 7 comes out.
