Whilst waiting all day for the phone service to be restored (don't you hate it when you can't access the Internet?), and after I got tired playing with lighting brushes, I tried creating some glass/gel brushes as per attached.

I'll post a separate image of the bubble brush.

This reminded me a bit of the image Ross created in that non-Xara product. Of course in my opinion it's more fun creating something rather than letting a software create it for you. But I carp.

The great thing about the custom brush shapes is the ability to include transparency in the brush image as well as add transparency in the brush edit stage.

Gary for someone that professes not to be able to draw, you produce some excellent renderings.

That last one is really nice, but my mind must be wandering in the mud again. It somehow reminds me of something I used carry in my wallet during the golden days of my youth.

    Gary - Awesome!

This is what I've been waiting to see! Remember the Mark's Pool Office image I had created some time ago? Well, I hoped to oneday see the office pool full of beer but was unable to pull it of myself. My trouble was my inability to render convincing beer froth. If you're up to it, perhaps you'd like to try. I hope so...

    Regards, Ross

Thanks for all the praise, all.

    Ross

I used to work on the Carta Blanca Cerveca (beer) account and got very good at rendering beer mugs with big (but not too big—they had to be just right) creamy heads.

Beer bubbles are not soapy looking like the ones I created, they're more grayish. I'll have to give it a try.

There were actually professional beer pourers who would attend photo shoots and pour the perfect head. Some (there was a family of these folks) could pour a dozen steins of beer at one time and get all the heads to rise at the exact same moment.

    (A little ad lore).

I think that was the dream of many xaran's! Christine Farrelly has kindly sent me some very nice brushes. The nicest ones will be distributed soon on the Swap Shop under her name. For this one only I have slightly modified the shadow (but she has made the most important work and the gel effect is from herself). And for the multicolored settings, of course they are available for the same kind of brush.

    Regards,

    ivan
