For those people who evangelize all the time about using third party email services instead of trying to do it yourself responsibly, he's a meal that'll make you choke:

    Gigantic Security Breach

Think twice before you commit your email marketing list to a third party. However secure they say they are, they ain't.
If someone tried to make me dig my own grave I would say No.
They're going to kill me anyway and I'd love to die the way I lived:
    Avoiding Manual Labour.

    A point well made.

I have a small mailing list, which I'd prefer was kept 'in-house' for all sorts of reasons and each time I mail, the opt out option goes with it.

I'm trying to get to know how to do these things for myself so I don't have to use a 3rd party. If you've bought software that's capable of providing the solution, why then subscribe to use someone elses software to do the job?

Just as importantly, I don't want "sent using MailChump" written on the emails I send out. It doesn't look at all professional, IMHO. And if you're a professional and you provide a service to clients you want that service to be professional and look professional.
