    Welcome to TalkGraphics

To apply 3D you need to import a vector graphic. Xara Photo and Graphics Designer and Xara Designer 7 can created vector graphics. With both these products you can copy and paste from the drawing programs into Xara 3D.

You can import a bitmap but only to apply as a texture. Here's a link to a features review http://www.xaraxone.com/webxealot/workbook86/

This is a very old tutorial but it will show you the basics. http://www.xaraxone.com/tutorials/apr99/index.html

Yes, but Xara Photo and Graphics Designer and Xara Designer 7 have additional features for image manipulation/creation.

So for example to make my avitar logo into a spinning 3d object make it into a vector and import it into xara 3d??

I think that's the idea. As per post #2.

I would follow one of the tutorials and see where you differ. I rarely use Xara 3D, but it should be pretty straightforward.

You must draw the logo in Xara Designer (or one of the many versions). Simply importing a bitmap image and saving a .xar or .web file does not create a vector copy of the image.

OK so you must start from the beginning again and create a new drawing.
    Thanks
