I have had about a week to test drive this new version and I have to tell you, there is a lot going on here. For one thing, I am so already used to the magic snap guides that I don't want to go back to the normal snap functions.

The super widgets are cool. You can create favicons and sitemaps plus a bunch more. If I reveal all there will be no reason to read my review, and I spent a long time writing it.

I noticed that there are no recent tweets in the twitter widget on page 5. I have been informed by Xara's webmaster that there have been some server problems following a routine maintenance which might explain this. The twitter widget was working fine yesterday and will probably be tweeting again soon.

Gary, How on earth have you done the page transition in your workbook, the page seems to fall down. Is this in xwd7 premium?

I too would rather wait for XDP7, but wonder what would it contain that XWD7 does not already have...

I wish I could say for sure. My only guess is there will probably be a Designer 7. I cannot think of why they would not continue to develop the product as it is Xara's flagship product.

What is becoming apparent is that Xara/Magix is trying to create a range of products that covers different groups of uses, from occasional users to full blown designers. And they are trying to create products for different "price points". It is called marketing and is the reason you cannot buy a simple tube of tooth paste any more without having to study every permutation of a simple product.

Xara ‎:-) We haven't been given a set date yet, but I've never known the guys turn around a new version in less than a year (Pro 6 was June 10, before you ask). What I can tell you is that Designer Pro 7 will include all the Web Designer 7 Premium features.
