    Default 123-reg

    could someone please tell me why the site i am building for my brother is directing me back to 123-reg, had no problems like this when i uploaded mine thanks for any help

    The only problem I have had with 123-reg was when the customer bought the windows hosting and I had to upload to the correct folder using filezilla, it seems ok with the linux hosting. Firstly check to make sure that the site has been uploaded to the correct folder.

    thanks skeck, all is well with where i uploaded it to the public folder i also have another domain name and hosting to my site, so i put it on there all was ok. all i can think of is that its a 123-reg problem ?

    You might have entered the URL incorrectly.

    When you get that kind of error message is it usually because the domain name has expired. Your registration is good until 2013.

    Did you name your export file index.htm or index.html? If not then this could be the problem. The browser looks for an index file and if it finds one it displays the page.

    OK, here's another possible problem. If your domain name is registered with a different company than your web hosting company, then you will need to redirect the name servers on your domain name registrar to the web host's servers which in this case are: ns.123-reg.co.uk and ns2.123-reg.co.uk
