If you preview a page with this problem you'll find an added "span" after the initial letter. I'm using a Logitech cordless mouse with driver(s) installed, can other people with the problem report their mice [if you see what I mean ] so we can see if that is the issue?

    Thank you

Thanks John. Just uninstalled the Logitech drivers [SetPoint] and the problem disappears!

Well... yes and no. It has worked sometimes but other times it didn't. Would be nice if the developers just fixed it once and for all.

If you look at my last post you'll see that it's not a Xara fault

Well I disagree. Why does it work on some pages and not on others??? I've tried it on two different systems using two different devices. Same result.

In my case, removing the drivers eradicated the problem. I agree Xara shouldn't react that way to the drivers but it is still the mouse drivers causing the glitch for some reason.

Just found that using the text link button all is as it should be, but right-clicking on the text and opening the web properties that way brings about the problem

Well then, it certainly looks like a Xara problem to me.

It's been reported to Xara. Still only happens here with mouse drivers but yes, looks like it. We'll see what the Xara experts [Xperts?] say
