help me in publishing website

On my ftp there is already a site published> I have created a website by xara 6 and now i want to replace it. While doing the option Publish Website it ask for FTP detail which i provided. but next It ask for sub folder and i don't know which i have to give. and then again it shows access denied while uploading. please help me
when I filld folder name as httpdocs then now its showing opretion timed out
and now its asking for a security token

Is your user name and password correct? This might cause the problem you are having.

Were you able to publish the first website from D6 OK?

The subfolder is optional but if your ISP said to publish in the htdocs folder then enter that in the Subfolder text entry box. If you have more than one site then you need to add that to the htdocs path. If you have a site in the htdocs folder that is called, let's say, capital, then the path will be htdocs/capital.

No my first website waas published by a local hosting company.
I reched at 24 % and now its showing that server timed out

What kind of Internet connection do you have? Dial up? High Speed?

Does your website have a lot of photographs? If yes, then select Optimize all JPEGs from the Utilities menu. This might help.

I'm going to suggest you use a fee FTP software called Filezilla. It's easy to use. The beauty of this FTP software is that you can observe your server side directory structure and make deletions & creat new directories as easy as you would on your own hard drive.

The ftp feature in WD6 has it's limits and also the way WD6 organises folders is a little different too. So uploading a website on top of a file structure already on the server is just asking for a confused mess.

Use Filezilla to clear your current website. Use WD6 to export website to your local hard drive then use your FTP software to upload to your host

In windows 7 (and I think Vista) you can just connect to you web site using Explorer. No extra fee required.

i noticed the subfolder is https if your site is https//www. xyx.com i have found upload problems from within xara

as above filezilla by passes this
