Default PDF Link driving me up the wall

I've read all the threads and posts i possibly could and am NOT getting my PDF link to open up in a new window.

I followed the example given (a number of times) by Sledger as given on this thread post #15 but have had NO joy.

    http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...6#post296136Hi

On my website i have the button

I would like to have the option of opening up in a new tab or right clicked and saved.

    The FIRST method
i used was the example mentioned above given by Sledger and made sure i had chosen "open new window (blank)"

I uploaded/published my site but when going to the site the PDF when clicked automatically opens up the Download manager. I went ahead and downloaded the file as a test, the result i got was an error

After numerous tries and errors (deleted my site and re-published) i gave up and opted for the second method

    The SECOND method
was by removing the PDF file from the index_html_files folder on my hard drive - then linking the folder this way

re-exported and published site and used File Zilla to upload PDF document as such

When i try to test the PDF again from the site i still get the Download manager opening up.

The URL as shown in the Download Manager is how i would like it displayed in the "New Tab" window if it opened up there!

I've run out of ideas (and patience) could someone please assist

    Hello

It sounds to me like the problem is nothing to do with Web Designer and everything to do with the way your browser/download manager's file types are configured. Do you get the same result in Internet Explorer or Google Chrome?

Thanks beretgascon for coming to the rescue .... you were right, I'm using a new download manager and it was the settings effecting the whole procedure, changed them and now working perfectly, even the URL shows correctly. Now onto my next battle .. getting RSS feeds onto the "News" page.
