Default Exact positions of the lights

    Hi.
I want to make some buttons for my website. The only thing I want to change on each is the text. It's all going well but I need to find the exact position of each light in order to be able to create "clones". I've tried different things but the results are not good. Just a slightest different position of a light and the colors are changed and I don't want that.
I tried to make the buttons in both 3D 6 and 3D Maker 7.

I really hope I make my self clear - my native language is not English.

    Thank you for your help.

    Welcome to TalkGraphics

    I agree with you.

Xara Designer 6 has a 3D Extrusion Tool that is similar to Xara 3D but also has settings that you can make for the lights in two axis. These settings would be good in Xara 3D Maker.

    Thank you Gary Priester.

I always enjoy your tutorials - a lot of work you invest in them!

I have Xtreme Pro 5 and it has the feature you mentioned - but unfortunately it can't make spinnig/rotating/whatever animations.... I could of course make gif's but they would never be the same.

I don't find it necessary to spend a lot of money on Designer 6 as I already own Xtreme pro 5, Webdesigner 6 and 3D 6 ( now also 7) and a few other Xara programs.

I understand that there's no way I can make those buttons as I wish - so I must think of something else.

    Have a nice weekend

    Hallo again.

    I think I found a way.

In stead of using the extruded button I used the one with the hole, a different bevel and let the lights remain in their start position, only changed their colors.
Now I can make the buttons almost exactly as I want them

Why didn't I think of this before I bothered you?

Questions are no bother, zsezsenke. There are always other people who need the information, too.

And welcome to the forum. Nice to have you join us.
