Custom Text for Font Previews

I'd like to be able to set custom text when previewing fonts in the font drop down or in the font gallery or both. It would speed up finding an appropriate font if you can view custom text in multiple fonts/side by side for comparison, rather than just the font name or AaBbCc.

With your 'custom text' selected (either with the Text Tool [T] or the Selection tool [V] ) click the font dropdown and hover the mouse over the font name to see your 'custom text' in the font style. If you want to compare several fonts side by side, right-click drag a copy and choose the font to compare. Does that work for you?

Yeah that's how I've been doing it, but mousing over/ or using the arrow keys for each font to see what my custom text looks like takes longer than I'd like. If the drop down could preview seleted text (or part of it if it's too long) instead of font names then I could just scroll down the list and view/select quicker. Knowing the font name is not as important to me as seeing what the selected text looks like in the font. I'm looking at some font programs at the moment that do this but it would be nice if you could do it within Xara.

I agree it would be a very useful feature. I currently use the most excellent AMP Font Viewer for basically that reason
