    Default light hidden behind text

Hi, I've just bought X3D7. I entered some text and clicked the button to show the light sources. One of them happened to be hidden behind the text but I only found this out after moving the text around first. I also noticed that the cursor would change to a little light bulb when I was over the hidden light source.

Is there a better way of getting hidden light sources to be 'revealed'? Moving the text and/or sweeping the mouse around until the pointer changes seem less than ideal.

Unfortunately, there isn't really. One method is to import the lighting settings from another x3d file that have the relevant hidden light in view, otherwise you have to move the obscuring object out of the way. Nevertheless, in Xara3d v7 if the cursor shows the light bulb even when it is hidden you can still move it by dragging, bringing it into view. This wasn't possible in Xara3D v6, so it is a definite and welcome improvement.

    Gary's Free Tip:

Go to the View menu and check Wireframe. Drag the hidden lights to the sides and then un-check Wireframe.

If your free tips are this good, the ones you charge for must be amazing!

I discovered that one because I was having the same problem.
