    Smile Angel of the North

Had a couple of free hours to play today I decided to try a picture of The Angel of the North. It's about five min's walk from my house.

Fantastic drawing Derek, but where is the angel?
That looks like a man made of iron with arms that look like airplane type wings!

    Beautiful background too.

Thanks all!... Rik, your description is exactly right... I'll post a photo of it on the photography thread, are you sure you haven't seen it?

    Great job, Derek

You've taken what LOOKS to be an eyesore on the horizon and made it look beautiful!

Thanks James... It was a bit of an eyesore when it was first put up, but it grows on you after a while. It attracts thousands of tourists so there must be something special about it. I've posted some photos of it on the photography section if you're interested in having a look.

    Hi Derek.

Just my strange sense of humour and my way of having a bit of fun.

I have driven past it a couple of times but I have never seen it looking as good as it does in your drawing.
I can't remember exactly but if you're driving, you only really have a chance of seeing it going one way past it?!

I like your drawing. But in my view the text detracts from the focal point. I personally would remove it. Or make it much, much smaller, tucked away in a corner using a sans serif font.
If someone tried to make me dig my own grave I would say No.
