    Default Landscapes

I love to get out early morning or late in the evening to try and get some nice shots. Here are a few shots from around the area I live... Hope you like them!

Great photos Derek and a very interesting area where you live.

What type of camera do you use?

Do you do any post processing of the images?

    Hi Bill,
Thanks for your kind comment. I used to have a fuji s5600 which is a basic bridge camera and takes excellent photos. I now have a canon EOS 450D, a few lenses and filters. I still use my fuji as a second camera.

    Excellent photographs, Derek. Inspiring work.

I really like those Derek, particularly I like the colors on the top right one. With your pernission I would like to use that one and make a desktop wallpaper with it, for my own personal use on my and only my pc. Here is a shot of my desktop to show how I would use it. This photo is my wedding photo enhansed in Xara and a mat created also with Xara and the frame was added using a frame from FotoSketcher.

As you can see I like my desktop uncluttered.

    Hi Larry,
Thanks for your feedback, it's much appreciated. I have no problem with you using the photo for your desktop. The photo is of the South River Tyne, taken at a place called Haltwhistle in Northumberland, England.
One for bill... I try to keep away from post processing, but as we all know it has to be done in most photos, but I try to keep it to a minimum.

    Thanks for the info Derek.

I like Canon cameras. I started using a Canon Ftb back in the mid 1970s, added a Canon A1 then a Mamiya 645 1000s medium format in the early 1980s. Currently I have a Canon SX 20 IS as my only digital camera.

I also like to keep post processing down to a minimum, preferring to crop and adjust exposure within the camera itself.

I'm no photographer - I use them, most artists do, for reference or stimulating the imagination - I leave the actual snapping to the other half

I really like 'end of the day' - and 'Calm' [I remember Haltwhistle as a nice place, we had relatives at Hexham when I was a kid]

    nicely done
