Coupon/promo code widget?

First off...I'm a complete utter failure at HTML so please bare with me since this may seem simple for a lot of you.

HELP!!
I'm using web designer 6 to put together an ecommerce web site.
I want to be able to offer coupons or a promo code for customers to enter on the checkout page. I'll be using paypal shopping cart.

I've searched everywhere for a simple widget or plug-in but haven't found anything.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

I am not sure one exists. Are you looking for something that will generate a random code? And does PayPal have a provision for a promotional code?

And finally, is this not some text you can add to the page?

I have been looking to do something similar, for now at least paypal don't let you put in discount codes but I looked around and found this

It works with Paypal and you can use it in the same way; the site generates the code and you bring this into webdesigner (paste HTML) or put into a placeholder and they allow you to offer discount codes.

If you do decide to use it please let us know how it went.
