    Default Portraits

I did some portraits for an RPG a friend of mine was running at a recent gaming convention. The clever bit was to print the character sheets, ensure the pictures were positioned properly, and run the sheets through the printer again to get the pictures centered exactly on the Portrait spot. The results were spectacular.

The line art and colors were all done in Xara Designer Pro 6. I may go back and add some parchment texture in the background, and make the colors look a little more like a watercolor painting, but other than that, I'm very happy with them.

Nice job, I'll have to show this to my son, he is a big fan of this type of art.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

    Excellent work Ben.

I'm a bit confused by the multi-pass printing though. Sounds as though you had pre-printed text and had to overprint the drawings, or the other way around, or.. ?

Yes, the character sheets were form-filled PDFs, with a space on one of the pages for the portrait. We created the characters and printed the sheets so the text was all pretty, then ran the relevant pages through again to print the portraits in the proper location on each page.

Very well done Ben, reminds of my Granddaughters favorite movie, Mulan.
