    Default I Lost My Metatags

I have a website done in Xara WD6 that at some point in the past I've added metatags to the home page. Unfortunately, I can't find where or how I've added them. They are not in the website properties so I must have added them to an object and named it <head> or a placeholder, but I can't find them. Any suggestions how I might find them? Layers gallery and names gallery don't seem to help.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Look in the pasteboard [the grey area off the page]. You can also set the view quality to low if you've disguised the placeholder further

I must be missing something. Can you look at this blank page: http://www.bluewatersportsmansassociation.com/meta.htm
The metatag info is there in the <head> section of the source, but is it generated automatically by WD6?

    Hi Jim

Those meta tags are generated automatically. If you are looking to add "description" or "keyword" meta tags these can be added via the web properties dialogue. The tags can be set for the whole site (web properties >> website) or individually for each page (web properties >> page)

Thanks, that's what I was starting to figure out. Is it possible to change this part: charset=Windows-1252 ?

It is possible to put another meta tag defining a different charset in a <head> place-holder. That may override the original but I would leave well alone. The Xara export filter is no doubt assuming that the 1252 charset is in place.

    Drwyd,
The reason this all started was because I tried to run a Validate HTML, and got this message:
"The character encoding specified in the HTTP header (utf-8) is different from the value in the <meta> element (windows-1252). I will use the value from the HTTP header (utf-8) for this validation."
Is this something to be concerned about?

Aha... You have been editing the exported code. Load it up again in notepad and save with ANSI encoding . That might solve it.

No, I haven't been editing the code. Direct export.
