Default Designer Pro 6 - Flash fade in / fade out questions

    Hi everyone,

First off, a eXtremely happy New Year to all of you!!

I'm still strugling with creating a flash fade in / fade out gallery. In spite of the numerous tutorials and youtube tuts, I'm still struggling...

I've mainly tried to follow the guest_71 tutorial because this one seems to fit my requirements most. I'm not able to judge properly, but I guess between versions of Xara some menu naming etc seems to have changed, this leads to confusion on my behalf..

I more or less rigorously followed the tutorial, and finally managed to get my 3pic fading flash.
I'll try to attach it in a minute.

    So here's my question:
I'd really like to grasp a better understanding as to why:
    - there are frames where there's 3 layerd pics, and frames where there's 2 layerd pics. I just don't understand this.
    - I also would very much like to understand the relation between copying and pasting bitmap copy's to various frames. I don't get the relation between them..
    - Is there any difference between -> File -> import -> photo1;
and just drag'n drop photo1 onto Xara?
    - After the copying of the 3 frames, what is the relation to moving which frame between the other ones??
    - Perhaps most tricky: How do I go about to adding more frames / pictures and keep the necessary relations right?

I really hope you can help me out here.
Thanks a lot for your patience!

    Erwin

    Hi Erwin

Sorry I can't follow what you did
Every frame should have 2 pictures. Frames 1,3 & 5 with tranparency added to top pic.
Basically every 2 frames have the same pictures.
See the diagram on tutorial to understand how to add more pictures.
Attached is the way the file should look.
PS I added small thumbnails on bottom to make easy drag and drop possible.

    Hi Aridzone,

Thanks a lot for your effort and your example.
For the moment I can get along and continue building the website.
I definetely want to figure out what's going on.

I'll do so by going step by step and only ask one specific question at a time. Hope you will be able to follow along
Thanks for your patience, much appreciated!

    Code:
    Question
Can I just drag'n drop a photo.jpg onto the animation canvas
    - or do I specifically have to follow the File -> import route?
    Thanks for sticking with me!

Yes you can just drag and drop from windows explorer to replace your photos in simple flash files. For complex flash files I recommend creating the small thumbnails to drag and drop onto.
