Default Corel Draw X3 install problem

I had someone work on my computer, and when they finished, I tried to open Corel and I got this message: Unable to create a DOM document.
    Class not registered
    Verify that MSXML4 is installed.
I tried to uninstall it and reinstall it, but I get the same message. Can someone help me with this problem?

    Hi

have you checked MSXML4 is still installed?

you don't say what operating system you are using - but if you are on XP/vista you can download MSXML4 here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...ang=en&pf=true

alternatively you may be able to install it manually from from windows update

    Hi DWSCOMPUTER,

I’m only guessing because I have Corel 11. If I was looking for program files I would go here:

    C: >program files (x86) > Corel > Corel Graphics 11 > Programs

Yours might not have the (x86), and it may be in a different directory, like the Windows program files.

    DWSCOMPUTER,

The files are definitely missing if you get that message, I found them lurking in the windows system files, I use XP Pro SP3. I deleted them to the recycle bin, and when I tried to open corel got the same message as you did. Try handrawns advice, follow his link and download the "msxml.msi" package and run an install, I tested it, it should work for you, the only other thing I would be bothered about if I were you, is what other system files could be missing.

    Hi

on my XP system the installation of MSXML4 is listed in 'control panel > add or remove programs' - but on vista maybe they are installed as default

anyway, as George says, all you need do is download and install - it should not harm the system if they are already installed - you can always run windows update afterwards to check that latest version is installed

good point too about other system files.. here is a link for checking on vista/win7:

Glad to help Steve. I also verified that Windows 7 shows MSXML in Programs and Features.
