I thought of a similar idea, but relating to naming objects when making an animation. There should be a button that automatically names all selected objects by giving each a unique name.

If I make a logo out of 25 pieces and need those pieces to individually go here and there in the animation, then I (afaik) have to select each piece and give it a unique name, so that Xara can tween them. It does NOT matter to me WHAT they are named, but they have to have some arbitrary name. It would be nice if the software had the option to give each piece its own, unique name all in one shot.
    Try this trick.
After adding all your objects or pictures:
Select all, apply Soft group, Apply name (just once), Copy frame, Remove soft group,
Clear selection, Move or change objects & pictures, Copy frame again etc...

It's a pain manually naming everything.
I've been thinking about this idea. I'd have to vote no unless it's an option that can be turned on and off. There are times I've wished that colors would get named automatically, but mostly it would be a royal pain in my workflow.
I use a lot of licensed clipart, and I spend a great deal of time sorting out the colors and setting them up so I can adjust them as necessary. Most of the time, I don't want a color named unless I name it, and then only according to the convention I'm using. Even so, I can wind up with very long lists of colors that become difficult to manage.

One of the nastiest situations I've had to contend with in licensed clipart is a series of icon figures that came with every color named (apparently automatically) by the originating application. Just opening one of these files requires 50 to 100 keystrokes. Last fall, I spent weeks, getting the figures out of the files and restructuring the colors so I could open a file without the hassle.
