    Lightbulb Creating transparent images.

Can Paint-Shop automatically "generate" a transparent image using a set of images with different color backgrounds?

For example; if I have these three images of my Recycle Bin, over a series of different background colors (Red, Green and Blue), can Paint-Shop calculate its alpha map and convert it into a transparent image automatically.

    Hello fahim108,

    Welcome to Talkgraphics.

Removing the colour from the outside of the icon is easy, but removing the colour from the interior of the icon is difficult. The results would not be near what you would like I'm afraid.

If you want to use one of the desktop icons with transparency, I would recommend one of the many applications that can locate and extract resources within dll and exe files. I use Microangelo, but there are some freeware apps you can locate with a google search.

http://www.microangelo.us/icon-editor.asp the Explorer tool can locate icons within files and folders.

Thanks Bill. I appreciate your help.

Although I used the icon image just to demonstrate what I wished to do. I may not be using it for making transparent icons, but that's fine, I was just wondering if it was possible... no serious issue, just my curiosity.

    Thanks again for your time.

    Cheers.
