    Default Preview Problem

I have opened a website I created in Web Designer in Xara Designer Pro 6. All pages come up and I can edit it, BUT I cannot preview it and see if the links work. When I click "Export and Preview," the following appears: "Unable to find the filter to import that file with". Will I have to re-create the whole web site (23 pages) in the new program ?

What a thing to ask on Christmas Eve, eh ?

Cheers and Merry Christmas from Canada, Neil

is there a seperate 'export website' menu option? - I am pretty sure you need to export at least once before you can preview, but I am no expert in the web export functions - it's possible that Designer Pro cannot use the Web Designer files that have already been exported....

    Hi Truroneil,
If you are running Vista or win 7 you may nedd to run the program as administrator one time. This lets the program register all the filters correctly.
    Hope this helps,
    Peter

Can't find how to "run the program as administrator," Deltapete. I have seen and tried "Run as Administrator" before in some programs, but cannot discover how to do it with Xara Designer 6 Pro. I've received the cd this week. Should I re-install the program from disc ? Might that help. Cheers, Neil

think you right click on the icon [rather than left click] to start - and select from the popup menu

if this works you should only need to do it once

Yahoo! It works. You people are so clever. Better than that, you explained clearly so that I could follow it. Many thanks.
