Hyperlink a document

I am new to Xara web designer. I am using Xara extreme 5 to create some web pages. How do I hyperlink a document to be downloaded.

You need to use a real time link. And the document needs to be uploaded to the root directory on your web host's server.

So if you have document, stuff.pdf, and your website is mywebsite.com then link to mywebsite.com/stuff.pdf

That make sense?

As an incentive to upgrade, the just released versions of Designer 6, WD6 and PGD6, have a linking function which automatically places the file in your index_html_files folder and saves you all this trouble.

Version 5 can be forced to import a file into the export folder using the 'Replace with graphic file' placeholder and choosing 'All Files' from the file type list.



Make a placeholder and use 'Replace with graphic file' to select your file.
Make a text link and 'Link to web address' your file name with index_htm_files/ in front of the file name like shown and untick the 'Correct address automatically' setting.
