The choice of colour and type of gradient, if any, is left to the individual . This solution will work for any non repeating graphic.

    Hi Drwyd
for clarity i make a place holder
call it head ( names )
    add code (replace with html)
put onto back ground of the page...do i need to repeat object for alll pages or just on index?
do i still drag the footer and header as before as far as i can and still use nopagecliping?

still fumbling my way so still need idiot steps sometimes. could you do a idiot proof list?

    Hi Scruffy

    call it head ( names ) --- don't forget the angle brackets i.e. <head>

add code (replace with html) --- Yep.

put onto back ground of the page --- I think anywhere will do but there seems to be a convention of putting it on the pasteboard at the top left of the page.

do i need to repeat object for alll pages or just on inde
x? --- All pages where you need the effect.

do i still drag the footer and header as before as far as i can and still use nopagecliping? --- Adding nopageclipping to the head place holder seems to work well. If any object has this name it will affect all objects on the page. Drag the headers and footers into position and centre over the page as before.
