Okay, so I got it to work perfectly once, but after trying to adjust some things I can't seem to get it right and can't figure out what changed. The log in box works great, and the text loads with it, but once logged in it also shows up on the next page.

Here is the link to the page - password=pass

Once you have written the text, you put it to the back and make sure it's behind something which will cover it after the full page loads - a rectangle the same colour as the page perhaps.

Another alternative would be to use this as a way of limiting access. It uses .htaccess and has more options. There's no need to put it on every page that you want to protect if you assign it to a directory or having to rename files to .php. You can also time limit user access. However you do need Linux-based hosting.

I've used .htaccess successfully in the past. No need to pay for a utility to do this if you don't mind editing text files and managing them through ftp.

I bookmarked this years ago and revisit it when needed - http://www.euronet.nl/~arnow/htpassw...mentation.html
