    Default Transparent Background????

    Hi all,

Have a question and its had me stumped for a few days now. I am building a website for a friend who is a musician. http://www.outwidemarketing.com/quietstate/

I have embedded a htm page inside another so that I can have the scrolling effect. However what I want to do is create a transparent background for the embedded page so that you can see the background of the original page.

I have looked through the forums and tried a number of things including creating a transparent png and setting it as the background image but that didn't work. So ultimately the question is - Can I do this and if so, how????

    Hope someone can help

    Cheers

    JP

I think you could fake it.

Did you use a script to create the scrolling list? If so you might be able to edit the background and use a bitmap that matches the content underneath the scrolling box.

OTOH do you need the scrolling box? Because unless you absolutely need to have it (and I would not use if myself--it looks inelegant) why not have a scrolling page instead?

You could place a semi-transparent rectangle over your background so the page background will show through, and place your content on top.

If you have access to the iframe page source it should be possible.
