    Default XaraX1 and Windows 7

    Hi Folks,

I've been using XaraX1 for quite some time, like Windows ME days. Recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 7 installed.

My XaraX1 works well, except that each time I initialize a session, I need to enter the
serial number. Somehow, it is never retained for future sessions.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

Try right clicking the desktop icon and selecting "Run as administrator". This usually only needs to be done once.

With the release of Windows Vista and continuing into Windows 7, even an account with Administrator privileges isn't given the same permissions as in older versions of Windows.

By running the application once with true Admin privileges allows updates to the registry that allow your serial number to be recorded correctly.
