Probably telling you something you already know, but rather than using a background coloured rectangle to hide the top edge, the "correct" way to create a top page margin - in WD6 / DP6 enable rulers (Ctrl+L) and drag the ruler intersection point to the position above the page where you want a margin space.

I like the colours!
