Default flash animation and drop down menu

I have hand-built a dropdown menu and my client wants me to replace the picture with an animation (just a few pictures fading in and out). When I do this the dropdown menu no longer appears. Am I doing something wrong?

Here is the page without the animation (and the drop-down works):

Here is the page with the animation:

    Thanks!

Try bringing your navigation bar to the top (select the bar and press Ctrl f)

The navigation bar and the dropdown menu are all above the animation. Still does not work. Any other ideas?

    Hi Monica
Just use the rectangle tool and add an object the same size as the placeholder behind the placeholder. See example:

Thanks for the suggestion. If I use a preset nav bar it works, but with the hover-over that I created it does not. I have attached an image which shows the layers I have used. Maybe you can see what I did wrong?

You have different addresses on the buttons. Try using the same urls

I am sorry, I feel very dense right now. I have each of the buttons linked to a page and set to have the hover-over. This works on the home page where there is no animation. I see that it works in your example too. I don't understand what you mean by "You have different addresses on the buttons. Try using the same urls"

    Thank you for your patience.

strange, when I drop the animation on the page it works, but when I use a placeholder for the animation it does not work. Well, the problem is solved. Thank you for your generous help!

    Monica

I am glad you resolved your problem.

If you are working with a Xara Template, frequently, the designers added an invisible rectangle behind the buttons that is linked to Xara.com. And so even though you link the buttons correctly, the rectangle redirects to Xara.com. If you switch to Outline View (Window > Quality > Outline) you will see this rectangle and you can delete it. If that is what Aridzone is referring to.
