Can out siders edit text, scheduals, times, news, ect on a website.

Is there a way to let someone, other than myself, update a website (news, info, schedules, ect). I don't mean to re-make the website but if something like text just need to be changed or times of events listed on the website.

What I am thinking is some sort of log in to do text editing on a website. Or are these options of the web host provider?

There are some software applications that I believe can do that. There were some posts about this not too long ago. Try doing a search for client, edits and see if you come up with anything. And check back because someone with a sharper memory than mine may remember which posts they were.
