I am creating a new web site and have established a horizontal navigation bar with a couple of sub menus.

I now want to insert a horizontal navigation bar for all sub menu pages showing the home page and the relevant sub menu pages only. I could do this manually linking each button, but is there a better way?

The way you are doing it is the better way. The Navigation Bar Tool can automatically create a button for each page in your site but the sub menus have to be manual until such a time as the Navigation Bar Tool gets psychic abilities and can read your mind.
