    Default color (colour) profiles-bitmaps

    Hi,
I am curious as to bitmap RGB color (colour) schemes. I have PhotoPaint X3 and am currently creating Video Intro's and backgrounds in Designer Pro and bringing them into Photopaint for cropping. I have an option in PhotoPaint for converting to NTSC color profile.
What is the difference between RGB and NTSC profile?

    Hi Jim,

The Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RGB_color_space has a table that may help.

Essentially NTSC/PAL/SECAM use RGB color space.

The NTSC system is used in various parts of the world, not only in North America. http://www.high-techproductions.com/ntsc.htm

Jim when I converted an image to NTSC RGB, the contrast was reduced and the colours were noticeably brighter than the RGB values of my sample jpg file.

    I'm using PhotoPaint X4.

Selecting PAL RGB did not make any noticeable change in the image.

    Hi Bill,
Yes I am running PhotoPaint X3, and that's where my original queary arose as right now I am into Video editing, and creating title/Menus in Designer Pro 6 and exporting then bringing into PhotoPaint X3 to crop. I then export to use in Cyberlink PowerDirector and or CorelVideo Studio X3 (VideoStudio X3 can import swf files). But when I preview in either program the image wasn't as sharp and thought maybe had something to do with RGB and NTSC profiles, but as you said not much difference. Oh well I stick to Designer Pro color scheme.
    Thanks for the input.
    JimM
