New logo design contest

Might I suggest that instead of publishing every design that you come up with, that you submit your best design or if you cannot decide, designs.

Thanks to the entries so far.

For those worried about changes to the skin, I said we may tweak it. A good logo is a good logo. We aren't going to say "well, this bar on the forums is blue, but the logo has yellow, so it's out". The logo will stand for itself, and be good in any scenario. I think true designers here will know their work will speak for itself. Worst case scenario we could discuss colour tweaks if we had to.

Does it make sense to hold off on the new skin until you pick a design? The colors in the winning design might suggest the colors for the skin!

Amaliss - I think you can post your comments in this thread. My point was instead of posting every idea we come up with, that we should wait and post our best design or designs if there are more than one.

The last time there was a logo contest, some people posted ten difference variations of the same design and the thread got very cluttered.

The skin and logo will be implemented together, so that they can influence each other.

Gary, the only clutter in this thread is all this chatter. To be honest, I am happy for people to post as many variants of a logo that they want. At the end, we can review them all - it worked fine last time.

Has anyone submitted a design for this as yet?
The trick I found is to not look at the winning skin for the site and plough on in total ignorance so heres my little effort to get things rolling, thats if there aren't any others posted elsewhere.
