Default Text wrap problem - solved - use png instead of jpg

Hi, I'm using Designer Pro 6 with one of the web templates.

I really haven't done much with the basic template except change text and pictures within the circles. While I can move the images around the page and the text will move to wrap around the images, when I export to web or preview, the text around some imges gets distorted.

Either the size will change a little, or part of a word will be displayed where it shouldn't. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks, Andre

This is because the image is a JPG which doesn't support transparency, so where the rectangle bounding area includes text from the underlying text area it is subsequently included as part of the JPG image, thus the apparent distortion.

    Example:

Name:	17.jpg

Size:	22.1 KB

Solution: Simply go to Web Properties>>Image and select Web image type: PNG for the kitty in the round frame.
This will solve the issue for you.

That's fantastic, and fast, thank you very much.

I guess I'll have to add that site to my bookmarks.

    Thanks again!

    Welcome to TalkGraphics

If you increase or decrease the default text size in your browser, the text may not wrap correctly as well. But I sounds as if the file format was your problem.

You can also mask an image in a shape, such as a circle and let Xara do the file conversion on publish. For example you can select a shape, or even text, open the bitmap or the fill gallery and apply an image to the shape or text. The container objects are vector and can be edited.
