    Question Linking Location Question

I have a folder within my webspace called "Printer Friendly Files" in which I locate pronter friendly versions of some of the information available in my site. I link to these files via the Web Properties>Link>Link to File option. How do I stop XDP6 duplicating these files in the Index_htm_files folder?

    Default Re: Linking Location Question

You can't. Anything you use the Web Properties>Link>Link to File feature for will cause DP6 to create a copy for the publishing folder.
You should instead use the 'Link to Web or Email address' field and use relative URLs.

    EG: Printer Friendly Files/myfile.htm

If you aren't sure about relative URLs, you can use absolute URLs like this:
    http://www.yourdomain.com/Printer Friendly Files/myfile.htm

One thing I would consider, don't use the name 'Printer Friendly Files' for that directory. Instead use printer-friendly-files
Google sees hyphens as spaces, and you won't run foul of case sensitive Unix servers.
