Missing things in the regular Version 6 of Xara

Hiya,


Just upgraded but I'm thinking seriously of getting refund... I mean come on now... the star quick shape is not included? How chintzy is that?? As Xara matured I expected MORE quick shape options not less. Perhaps it's high time I make Draw Plus my preferred go to app for vectors.... Really put off right now... Not liking the UI either, it's too dark. There are no options to use the original "system" colors which I prefer...

Not sure what you are missing?
Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 6 includes all the shapes you are accustomed to under the quickshapes flyout.



This is the same as the Pro version (Designer Pro 6)

As for the UI colours, you can revert these to the old lighter grey by pressing: Alt+Ctrl+Shift keys then tap the S

Hi Richard,

Long time no see.

Many of us long time users do not like the dark UI and the flyout menus.

To get back to the normal system colours use Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S. This toggles between the original UI and the Dark UI. If you have customized your toolbars they will revert back to the defaults when you use the key sequence.

The "Flyout" menus have hidden many of the tools. Use the Windows > Control Bars > Button Palette to fix things. Use the Alt Key and the left mouse button to pull the flyout menus off the toolbar and onto the Button Palette. Then use the Alt key and the left mouse button to pull the individual tool icons to where you want them. See attached image for how I have put things back to rights on my system.

Thanks for the tip on the UI but the shapes fly out only shows the square and the circle, the star is missing!

Open the Windows >> Control Bars >> Button Palette
Use the Alt Key and the left mouse button to pull the star shape off the button pallet an onto your menu bar.

Thank you, thank you! I'm so pleased to get back to the lighter grey, I found the dark made it very difficult to see the small sliders on the colours and design gallery etc.
I've got used to the fly out buttons now, but I'll try your suggestion.

As for the quickshape tool, you can use the keyboard shortcut shift-F2
