Old picture fade effect?

I'm hoping someone can help me find an old example of a cool way to fade from one picture/photo to another. It was posted way back when Web Designer v5 came out. I don't know what to call the effect so I can't search for it (though I've tried :P ) It looks like the second photo is segmented in vertical bars, and slowly "fades" over the first picture.

I had an example but lost it after a major HD crash Sorry if this is all kinda vague, but I'm hoping someone will remember that effect - thanks in advance!
