The new version seems to be missing all the good stuff I used like Logos are missing (I downloaded templates and cannot fine what I used to use: a graphic in a logo template)
What happened? Did I buy the wrong upgrade???

Hello Sherwood and welcome to TalkGraphics.
There are a ton of templates that ship with Web Designer. They are in the Designs Gallery (Shift + F10).
Plus you get drawing and intuitive layout and publishing tools.
The big difference is Web Designer is just different. Don't give up just yet. Take a little time and explore. You might even find you have a lot more room to be creative.
