How to add picture background in Xara designer 6

Hi I am new to Xara,

I am trying to add a background picture over most of the page and then reduce the transparency and feather the edges.. I have tried several ways but cannot get the picture size to cover the page.
Any suggestions or a work around be appreciated

Hi John and welcome to TalkGraphics

Do your feathering and transparency editing first and then create a new bitmap.

Open the Bitmap editor, hold down the Ctrl key, and drag and drop the edited image onto the pasteboard area (the background).

You can use John Horn's Tweak Set to determine how the bitmap behaves in the browser (e.g., centered, non-scrolling, tile only horizontally, etc.).
