Hit Counter?

Hi
Does anyone know how to get a hit counter added into a site? I have one in frontpage but it won't transport.
Is there an easy way to get one on xara?

Place the code in the a placeholder and you should be fine.
I also use a generic counter also as a visual to my visitors.

What if I am Jewish?

You can do a Google search and find a ton of free hit counters. Most of these free counters place a small line of ad text or link to an advertising site of some sort.

Just put the script for the counter in a placeholder object.

I don't want to rain on anybody's parade, and this comment is aimed at everybody, not just the OP, but please, please, please, in order to preserve the elegance and dignity of your website, don't add a hit counter to your website.

Go on, read the article!

Now start tracking visitors using access logs. Not the holy grail of visitor tracking, but about a zillion times more accurate, interesting, effective and professional than hit counters, visible or not.

just because it's faith based doesn't mean other religions can't use it.
I was just offering the originator the post options. And that's one option I use.

To Frank's point, you should investigate Google Analytics. There has been some changes though and you might search the forums to find out how the code needs to be installed.

It is a free tracking solution that provides more information than you ever wanted to know.

To hit or not to hit.

I read an artical many years ago that I think sums it up.

If you are already getting lots of hits you don't need to let anyone know and if are not getting many hits you don't want anyone to know.

I use google analytics on all my sites so that I have the information to give my clients and thus able to tweek a site to get better results.

just copy the code then right click in XWD and select paste html placeholder - very small and discreet
