Red face Why do layers get mixed up?

I have found that my layers get confused. When i import a graphic or copy one onto another page it is lost behind a layer even thought that layer is (moved to the back). What I have done is paste the object on another page and moved it onto the page I want it and it works.

Layers is a tutorial I really need to dive into, this confuses me. This would also explain why at times my "repel" doesn't work in some pages text.

"LAYERS" are a key element to web design and I am,....drowning under layers of confusion

Thanks for the help again, you guys are the best!

Try setting your Import Layers option to Import Layers Into the Active Layer.

    This drives me nuts too.

In order for an object to repel text, the object must be above the text. Cut the object then Edit > Paste in Place.

For those who find this thread, here is a link that sheds some light on this Layers

I will be playing with this a lot today, there is sooo much I want to do to make our websites more interactive and layers and mouse overs can do that.
