    Default Painting smooth skin

    Hello Everyone,

I am very new here just joined and I am very new to corel painter and portraits painting, I use Grainy water to paint faces but noticed the skin tend to look dry and chalkie instead of being smooth and glossy as I see with various Digital Artist.

Please I would like to know how I can get the skin to look smooth and glossy.

Any reply would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance

Hello Helen and Welcome to TalkGraphics

Skin is one of the hardest surfaces to render because you have texture, subtle colors, and shapes. Look at some of the old master painters and look at how they use their colors.

This is an old Xara Xone Guest Tutorial and Vladimyr uses vector objects to paint his portrait, but it might give you some idea how you can achieve what you are attempting in PhotoPaint.
