Pdf Export - Layer Issue

Hi All

Just moved onto using Xara Designer Pro 6 after being on 3.2 for quite a while and I got a quick question which I just can't seem to figure out.

I'm making some artwork using different layers (artwork, cutter, dimensions etc.) to keep everything seperate, and I want to export the finished file as a pdf, but when I do this is splits each layer into its own pdf.

I've looked at all the export settings and I can't see an option anywhere to export all the layers in the same pdf. Am I missing something?

It exports as one page for me.

What PDF options are you selecting?

I simply selected the Commercial Printing option.

Interestingly I compared the two export settings and the difference is that previously I was exporting as 'Adobe Reader 7' in which case it splits the layers, however if I change that onto 'PDF/X-1a' then it puts all the layers into one file

Not sure why that works, but it does

There seems to be some odd default option set somewhere.

I initially had the same issue with Xtreme 5, as I jumped straight to Custom settings, and every time I'd export, it would save each layer as a separate file. However, after I exported something using one of the pre-set options, everything worked fine, even after I switched back to Custom settings.

I'm not sure but the changes made in the pdf file specification between version 7 and pdf/x may be what caused the separate pages per layer.
