Default A tribute to the participants of TG

This piece is a tribute to all the participants here at TG that have shared their knowledge and talents with me that made this drawing possible. Starting off with Xara I was able to do some copies and traces of an object but now I can just look at something and duplicate it. I'm able to see how to re-create something while looking at it.

I found this particular piece the other night and decided to try and re-create the image. (The drawing on the left is mine) It took about an hour to re-create. When I was done, I felt so good about myself, realizing a few short months ago this would not have been possible for me to do. I hope this will encourage newcomers to TG. I am a hobbyist that is enjoying the ability to express himself artistically using the Xara products.

I did this piece in Xara photo & graphic designer 6. I did not use any special features in this drawing. It is entirely created with circles, shades, feathering and transparencies. I did not use any bevels, contours or extrusions.

I want to thank everyone here at TG that participates in the growth of fellow artists using the Xara products. You have made me feel welcome from the moment that I signed in to TG. Thank you again for the wealth of knowledge and taking the time to share. A huge applause to all the participants here on TG.

You are mastering your tools very well and I certainly wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the original and your rendition.

With my moderators hat on I've changed the spelling of your thread title as it looked as though you were singling out a particular religious group – Protestants. I hope participants are nearer what you meant?

Thank you Derek. My grammar is not the best. Thank you for the correction and I hope no one took offense.

Thank you everyone. I posted this thread because I was intimidated by all the fabulous artwork that was being produced by the artist on this site. Everyone here on TG has been very supportive and encouraging. I respect the people on this forum a great deal. You are true artists in every sense of the word and have a giving heart. That's not something I'm used to seeing in the art world and I think it should be recognized. Kudos to all of you.

Thank you again Derek for correcting my typo.
