    Default Navbar not updating

If you have references to, say, Page1, Page2, Page3 and insert a new page between, say, Page2 & Page3 the links are not updated in the Navbar. You have to manually update the Navbar and the Update Repeating Objects.

This is a minor hassle, just a little nuisance as you must remember to do it. Am I perhaps doing something wrong??

In Navigation Bar Properties "check" Site navigation bar (automatically links to all pages and appears on all pages in site).

Don't believe this is an option as the navbar links to many non-pages, both within this site and others, plus PDFs, movies.... However, shouldn't the links be automatically updated when you 'update repeating objects'? If you change the name of a page the links ARE auto-updated(???).

    This just seems an inconsistency.

I may not quite understand what you are expecting Xara to do.

In your example you have a 3 page website; Page 1, Page 2 and Page 3 and indicate you want to add a new page between Page 2 & 3 (after Page 2)

If “automatically link to all pages and appears on all pages in site” is “unchecked”…

Example # 1. If you select page 2 and “insert a blank page after the current page”, a new “blank” page # 3 will be created. The NavBar will be automatically updated for the “original” 3 pages (now pages 1, 2, & 4). New page # 3 will not have a NavBar because you indicated you wanted to create a “blank” page.

Example # 2. If you select page #2 and “insert a duplicate of current page” a new “page # 3” will be created which duplicates page #2. The NavBar will automatically be updated with “original” page # 3 becoming page # 4. The NavBar will NOT be updated to accommodate new page # 3. This is something you will have to do manually (and then run “update repeating objects") because Xara can not read your mind (though future versions may be able to) and know exactly what you want to do with your new page because it was a “duplication” of page # 2.

If you wanted the new page to have updated NavBar you would have to have “automatically link to all pages and appears on all pages in site” “checked”, but then every new page you add would have NavBar added and updated automatically.

Attached is a 3 page website which you can experiment with to see how it works.
